| ACTIVITIES
The activities of our church are
classified using the five marks of mission:
TELL
to proclaim the good news of the kingdom
TEACH
to teach, baptise and nurture new believers
TEND
to respond to human need by loving service
TRANSFORM
to seek to transform unjust structures of society
TREASURE
to strive to safeguard the integrity of creation, to sustain
and renew the life of the earth.
| They
were first formulated by the
Lambeth Conference of 1988 and then endorsed in their present form in
1997 by the Forum of Churches Together in England, and by the Growing
Up Report of the United Reformed Church in 1999.
Sometimes an activity covers more than one mark of mission.
For
example, the Junior Church is included under tell, teach and tend.
Activities concerned with maintaining church buildings and the
provision of equipment are included under facilities.
