Ministry and Mission
Our mission statement is:
A church serving the spiritual, social and cultural needs of the city centre community
throughout the working week as well as on Sundays.

The community includes those who live in the suburbs but spend time in the city centre.
We believe that God is concerned with the whole of life, body, mind and spirit. So we
are committed to making the whole of life reflect the love of Christ.

We do this through Worship and Prayer but also by serving the social needs and cultural needs of the community. This is why we are open throughout the working week, when the Church Centre is the focus of our activity. The opening of the Church Centre has led to the active involvement of an increasing number of people. The fellowship has readily adapted to the new situation and will continue to do so. Whilst most members are satisfied with a traditional form of Sunday worship, there is a willingness to explore alternative forms. The quiet room in the Church Centre is used for a number of mid-week services. These are about 30 minutes long and finish in time for lunch and are valued as a time for reflection and prayer.

Administration and communications are good, with a weekly notice sheet and a monthly magazine. There is a strong and capable leadership and lay involvement in all aspects of church life. We serve tea and coffee after the Sunday morning service, so that there is an opportunity to converse with newcomers and introduce them to members with similar interests. If appropriate we ask them to sign the visitors' book, so that we have contact details.
