Warwick Road United Reformed
Church
and Church Centre
Our aim is to make the love of
Christ a reality in Coventry city centre seven days a week
Mission Statement
A church serving the spiritual,
social and cultural needs of the city centre community
throughout the working week as well as on Sundays.
We seek to do this by:
- Offering regular worship
- Being inclusive
The church is a fellowship of people, who come together to
worship and have found peace with God through Jesus Christ.
The world can neither give this peace nor take it away.
Services are held on Sunday, Thursday and monthly on Friday.
We believe that the love of Christ is available to all
people, at all times and in all places. Local churches make
the love of Christ a reality in their own locality. All of
us need to belong to a community, which offers support and
encouragement.
- Serving older people
- Using our musical gifts
We believe that God is concerned with the whole of life,
body, mind and spirit. So we are committed to making the
whole of life reflect God's glory. We do this through
worship and prayer but also by serving the social and
cultural needs of the community.
The Lunch Group meets on Tuesday and Friday. This begins
with a coffee morning and is followed by a set two course
lunch. Light refreshments are also available on Thursday.
Lunch time concerts are held regularly and evening concerts
occasionally.
- Working for justice
We do all we can to achieve integrity, justice, fairness and
tolerance in both public and private life. We speak out
against forms of oppression whereby people are denied their
God-given rights of freedom, health and the necessities of
life.
- Working together with other churches and groups
We co-operate with churches of other denominations and work
with them to provide a common witness. What we have in
common is greater than the differences between us. We work
closely with our sister United Reformed Churches in
Coventry. Our minister is shared with Foleshill Road URC and
Potters Green URC.
We seek links with other groups such as Age Concern and the
Council for Voluntary Service. We also have an arrangement
with Henley College, whereby some of their students gain
work experience in the Church Centre.
